Carmelo Cascone
Background / Bio
Carmelo is a third year PhD candidate in the Department of Electronics and Information at Politecnico di Milano, Italy in a joint program with the Department of Electrical Engineering at École Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada. He worked on research problems related to SDN scalability using stateful data plane forwarding abstractions, programmable failure detection and recovery, and queue management for fair bandwidth sharing. In 2016 he spent 6 months at Open Networking Laboratory (ON.Lab) as a Research Scholar Intern, here he worked on extending ONOS in order to support programmable data planes such as those defined by P4.
Areas of expertise
- ONOS support for programmable data planes (e.g. P4)
- ONOS southbound architecture
- General ONOS architecture
