Dongkyun

Background / Bio

Dongkyun Kim is a principal researcher who has been working for advanced research networking for around 20 years at Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), South Korea. He received his Ph.D. from Chungnam National University, Korea in 2005, becoming a member of Joint Institute of Computer Science (JICS) of University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the United States as a visiting scholar from 2006 to 2007.

Dr. Kim started KREONET-S project in 2015 to achieve network softwarization for Korea Research Environment Open Network (KREONET) based on ONOS, SDN/NFV and various open networking technologies. He served as PIs and co-PIs of many advanced networking initiatives including NSF-awarded IRNC/GLORIAD, GLORIAD-KR/KRLight, and K-GENI/SDN/Future Research Networking projects. He has been leading KREONET-S project since 2015, making diverse efforts to realize production ready SDN-based virtual networking, network automation & orchestration, and network intelligence over KREONET Infrastructure.
